Arnold Schoenberg  (Sep.13, 1874 - Jul.13, 1951)

オーストリアの作曲家。十二音技法を作った。

靴屋の父が15歳の頃なくなり、銀行で勤めながら、夜に音楽を学んだ。1934年カリフォルニアに移住。UCLAやUSCで教鞭をとる。十二音楽技法とは、無調音楽に規則性をもたらしたもの。

17世紀の作曲家モンのチェンバロ協奏曲をシェーンベルクが編曲した「チェロ協奏曲」がある
